Jan Kath is a multi award winning contemporary rug designer who has worked in collaboration with some of the worlds most illustrious design firms.
The Erased classics collection incorporates ornate motifs from diverse origins such as opulent Italian wall coverings and Indian saris.
These patterns form the basis for the “Erased Classics” collection in which the otherwise strictly ordered ornamental elements are broken up in a random manner as a designed imperfection. Crafting an appearance that has been obliterated, eroded, soaked with acid and corroded, Jan Kath has created an entirely new language, in texture and design. These can be commissioned in colour, materials, size, and knot density, and clients can also specify the degree of erosion according to their individual taste.
