Here are the latest updates, promotions, mergers and news from across the architecture and design industry.

Diverse Product Agency

Creighton Claiborne has launched Diverse Product Agency which he has set up to support architects, designers, end clients and manufacturers to source Indigenous products and Australian-owned companies. Before starting Diverse Products Agency, Creighton worked with Winya Indigenous Furniture Company and Mac Textiles as a commercial agent. After a career helping launch products into the specifications market and sourcing product to manufacture for industry, Creighton is now committed to advising and coaching the current market how to procure products that make a communal difference.

HDR

Australian architecture practice HDR has announced the promotion of 19 staff members across its office, reflecting its commitment to diversity and career development.

Five directors, five associate directors and nine associates have been promoted. “The promotions are a testament to the depth of design expertise and leadership we have at HDR,” said Stephen Auld, managing director.

New directors include Alan Boswell, Catherine Loker, Graeme Spencer, Ralph Williams, and Tina Turrisi.

New associate directors at the global design firm are Elisa Nakano, Francesca Fava, Graham Reynolds, Rashi Prashar, and Sam Faigen.

Recognising emerging talent, the firm promoted the following to associates: Amy Papas, Cathal McLogan, Chris Murray, Howard Liu, Jeremy Graham, Romina Triboli Pisi, Rowena Sequeira, Sonni Jeong, and Vanessa Zakrzewski.

IA Design

IA Design has welcomed two new staff members and promoted a new studio director. Susie Bryden has taken on a new role within the company as the studio director in NSW. Susie brings 20 years of experience in interior design to this position and as studio director she will be the key contact across the project team.

Joining IA Design is interior designer Emeshe Varga and key account director Renee Opperman. Emeshe will form an integral part of the design team working across a range of projects. Renee brings over 20 years of experience in marketing strategy and communications, alongside business development. In her new role, Renee will foster relationships with existing clients and identify new business opportunities for the studio.

Sandbox

Two retail companies have announced a merger, now operating under the name Sandbox. In September it was revealed the founders behind Studio Ginger and Edge Concepts have joined forces to launch a new creative studio catering to the evolving retail design landscape.

Sandbox brings together a diverse and fully integrated retail offering including research and shopper profiling alongside design and project management services. Sandbox will unite staff from Studio Ginger and Edge Concepts in a new headquarters.

Tēchne

Melbourne studio Tēchne has announced the promotion of architect Sam Sempill to associate. With 15 years of experience in various roles, Sam has been an integral member of the Tēchne team with her Amora Hotel redevelopment project crossing many sectors of the business.
