Continuing our new series on the design enthusiasts who work in all sorts of different roles across the industry, we speak to Rogerseller's Claire Drummond.

In this brand-new series, it’s all about getting to know the brands – more specifically, the people behind the brands in the design industry. Even more specifically, in fact, we’ve been seeking out the real design enthusiasts who work just outside the spotlight but are some of the critical nodes in the network that is architecture and design.

We hear lots from the architects and interior designers, but what about the sales managers and marketing experts who link them with products, specifiers and so on? Often, the people working around the industry have professional training in some form of design – including a few of us at Indesign – so we set ourselves the task of getting to know them.

Do you have a passionate design superstar working behind the scenes at your company? Let us know

Tell us a bit about your background and how long you’ve been around the design industry?

Whilst working for a property developer and studying interior design, I developed an ambition to work closely with end users, designers and architects. I got my start in the industry around 10 years ago working for a National Plumbing supplier in a sales role and from there progressed to a role with luxury Bathware supplier Rogerseller. This led to roles in Business Development within both the Interiors Retail and Commercial sectors.

What is your current role?

Rogerseller was acquired by Australian family owned business the Winning Group in 2020 and since then I have been a part of the Winnings Trade Team with a focus on relationship building for the A&D market.

Where does your passion for design come from?

I feel that good design should have the power to change lives and my passion for design comes from a desire to solve problems and create bespoke, functional, meaningful spaces.

What are some of your favourite areas of designs?

My experience within the Bathware industry still drives my passion for Interiors.

Traditionally with all the highly polished surfaces bathrooms could often be quite cold spaces however, today with the layering of different surfaces, finishes and textures depth and warmth is produced.

How much of a difference do you think it makes for specifiers to be working with knowledgable design enthusiasts in marketing/sales?

With so many trades required to complete a bathroom renovation these can become a complicated task to take on however, with the right team collaborating to elegantly incorporate aspects from several design styles into a single space, beautiful results can be achieved. It’s all about teamwork.
