The company, in their 55th year of production, continues to hand-make all its porcelain sculptures using traditional methods. They have also collaborated with several notable designers including Jaime Hayon, Committee and Bodo Sperlein.

The Queen of the Nile and Great Dragon sculptures were unveiled to collectors during the tour. Ángeles says it is tours like these that help her to keep in touch with her customers – people are her inspiration.

When challenged that decorative porcelain may be a thing of the past, Ángeles was quick to refute, “I think it is at its very peak. Decorative porcelain is increasingly present in proposals from designers, stylists and interior designers worldwide.”

“My father and his brothers strove to create elegant, expressive works, which exude life and stir feelings. My father Juan, sister Rosa and I, who control the Lladró company, remain loyal to this mantra.”
