Running from 14 -25 July at the Royal Exhibition Building in Melbourne as a part of the State of Design Festival, Light + Shade  is set to be unconventional and highly experimental exhibition, open to all.

“We wanted to create an unrestricting environment where professional designers could freely utilise their skills and experience,” Dominic Russo, Event Coordinator explains. “Expect out of the ordinary interpretations that challenge the common paradigms of both light and shade.”

The design heavyweights include Ryan Russell of RUSSELL & GEORGE. Ryan’s exhibit “Lighthouse” will be created from a suspension structure with a low neon flex – low output LED based lighting tube.

“Lighthouse is a poignant reminder of our need to occupy the neglected spaces of cities, be it laneways, subterranean or rooftops,” Russell explains.
