December 1st, 2010
Hello all!
I know I’ve been posting a lot of Victorian stuff this past couple weeks and I promise there’s some great NSW and QLD stories to come this week.
But for the time being I want to extend a special congratulations to the winners of the inaugural Better By Bike competition which ran as part of the Melbourne Bike Festival.
I so enjoyed judging all these entries, and the creative ingenuity I saw from designers and non-designers alike really impressed me.
There were four nifty categories, described below:
Handy – Got a technical improvement, a whole new project, an engineering revolution, a nifty streamliner, a modification?
Happy – Found a way to make the rider smile, make the city safer for cycles, a system, a program, an event?
Healthy – Can you get more people riding, more diversity, more engagement with community?
Hot – Can you make bike riders look even better, brighter, more comfortable or cool?
And these were the winners…
HANDY WINNER: Stuart Wallace for Buttguards (Winner of a DQ subscription and a Dahon Mu P8 Folding Bike)
HAPPY WINNER: Benedikt Josef and Josh Wright for Bike Check (Winner of a DQ subscription and an Allegro Onya)
