  • Product Description

Milliken’s “Reconciliation Through Design” initiative provides a platform for collaboration between Indigenous artists and designers and the commercial interiors industry. The collaboration with Saltwater Freshwater Arts Alliance and the National Aboriginal Design Agency is the beginning of the brand’s “Reconciliation Through Design” initiative resulting in the development of the Water Yuludarla commercial carpet collection – a six-piece compendium by Gumbaynggirr artist, Brentyn Lugnan.

The Water Yuludarla Collection is a contemporary interpretation, based on the artwork of Brentyn Lugnan. Inspired by many elements of Brenyn’s original artwork, each of the six designs in the collection signify a connection to both the land and people of the Urunga region – past, current and future. The patterns and natural colour palettes in the “Water Yuludarla” collection exude biophilic designs and are envisioned for use across multiple market segments and spaces. Designs include:

Guunu (Life): Traditional take on the ‘dot painting’ with a modern look, this design is inspired by the land and the natural environment of the Northern Regions of NSW, the design combines the land boundary elements which has been layered into the background.

Yildaan (Dreaming Track): is the reverse to the Guunu design. Both designs can be installed together creating a balancing effect from light to dark tones with the dot elements.

Bindarray (River): This design captures the textural elements of the riverbank and movement of the sand connecting to the water’s edge and the effect it displays.

Guluuna (Rain): Contemporary look at water with a soft ambience and the combination of rain and sunlight reflections, captures the movement and essence of the landscape.

Mayala (Moving): Organic movement of land and water are blended elements within this design creating an abstract and contemporary look.

Jagun (Birthplace): This is a layered pattern capturing elements of the Mayala (Moving) design in the background, while incorporating the dot elements.

Combining our innovative and superior PrintWorks™ technology our product offerings provide clients with quick lead times and flexible solutions, and the imagination to create and play the look and feel to their interior space.

All Milliken carpet, LVT and entrance flooring tiles is carbon neutral, forming part of our M/PACT™ program worldwide.
