Stylecraft hosts a feast of photography with I SHOT 23

Having been launched last year, the 2023 I SHOT exhibitions and book launch explore the theme of Home / Away. The exhibitions opened nationally on 25^th October in Sydney, 26^th October in Melbourne and 2^nd November in Perth – they are set to close on 19^th January 2024.

Each of the exhibitions has made a beautiful photographic impression on the three Stylecraft showrooms in its respective state. With 45 photographers involved, the images are diverse but always perfectly formed and they complement the brands and products of Stylecraft, which is again partnering with the Association for these events.

The theme Home / Away allows for myriad perspectives that range from the close and intimate to the distant and unfamiliar, but all are personal and captivating. Each photographer presents a view of their relationship with the overarching theme that is sometimes unexpected but always arresting.

For some of the participants Home is interpreted as a physical place; some create a feeling, include a person or evoke a memory. Away, meanwhile, has been captured through the feelings of exhilaration or discomfort, based not only on geographical distance but also interactions with the world.

As a supporter of the 2023 INDE.Awards, and returning in 2024, the Image Makers Association of Australia champions Australian professional and emerging photographers and their work through collaboration and celebration. Bringing together many of Australia’s best photographers and showcasing the work of those who are emerging, Home / Away is exciting, provocative and inspiring.

Each Stylecraft showroom will display a group of different photographers’ work, and the images and the bespoke book can be purchased in store. Those participating in the exhibitions are:

These exhibitions are not to be missed and whether there is the opportunity to see one or all three, each will bring to the fore emotions that resonate with us all in today’s world.
