Prototype involved in the restoration of a Brisbane landmark
October 4th, 2012
The Regatta Hotel, an iconic Brisbane watering hole, has undergone major renovations after the 2011 Brisbane floods destroyed the venue’s lower levels
A highlight of the fresh new look is the outdoor courtyard that achieves a comfortable mix of the old and the new, with resort and alfresco style outdoor furnishings complementing the hotels’ historical architecture.
Working with the interior and furniture designers, Prototype Commercial Furniture were brought in to deliver a range of custom outdoor furniture solutions. Prototype custom manufactured several lavish daybeds, banquette seating and timber dry bars that encapsulate the laidback lifestyle enjoyed by the venue’s patrons.
Showcasing the quality of their Made-to-Fit capabilities, Prototype manufactured the outdoor furniture to withstand the elements with a fully galvanised steel framework and hardwood timber cladding that was then matched with foam and fabric suitable for outdoor use.
Dan Morahan, Prototype’s General Manager, points out that Prototype’s contribution to the restoration of the ’Grand Lady of the Brisbane River’ were fabricated in their in-house Brisbane upholstery workshop – a wonderful relationship between local industry, suppliers and a much loved landmark venue.
