Home living is not a celluloid snapshot but a colourful presentation of the occupant’s life, ideas and treasured objects. Laufen’s concept for real style living is called Lb3.
September 21st, 2011
In designing it, the key proviso was that the styles freely interact with real life situations, unfettered by conventions. And taking it further: Users are at last given the green light to realise their own decorative impulses!
Preparatory to Lb3, the Milanese architects and designers, Ludovica+Roberto Palomba studied living in international metropolises. What they discovered: People quite naturally possess a penchant for the styles of the 19th, 20th and 21st centuries – yet at the same time they experience a deep-seated need to personalise these styles and adapt them to suit their personalities.
Ludovica+Roberto Palomba grouped their designs around three strong archetypes: washbasins in “modern”, “classic” and “design” variations. “modern” with its clear-cut contours is an unconventional tribute to the Modern and Bauhaus styles. The dual contours of “classic” are the epitome of timeless elegance – and not only reserved for living in modernised old buildings. On the other hand, the cube and soft curves are characteristic of the “design” line washbasins, leading up to the designer-oriented interior style of the metropolises around the globe. The extensive selection leaves options wide open from drop-in vanity washbasins to sculpted washbasins with pedestals. A special design feature of the Lb3 washbasins is the invisible outlet and overflow – a solution that is both stylish and hygienic.
Be it floorstanding or wall-hung, with surface or flush-mounted cisterns: the Lb3 WC and bidet spectrum impresses with a wealth of options and practical details: A cover with soft-close mechanism, invisible overflow on the bidet and WC seat with anti-bacterial coating are optionally available, and furthermore, all fixtures are concealed.
