Hames Sharley is delighted to announce a string of recent promotions, with four team members promoted to senior associates, and another four new associates to the leadership team.
“These promotions recognise what our team has achieved to date, but also our confidence in their significant contribution into the future,” says Hames Sharley’s Managing Director Caillin Howard.
“Empowering and developing talent from within Hames Sharley is always a key focus for us,” says Howard. “The promotion of these leaders enhances our goal of maintaining a resilient and sustainable, design-focused practice.”
Without further ado, here are those to whom our congratulations are due…
Elise is an experienced architect and a true all-rounder within Hames Sharley. She exemplifies qualities that uphold Hames Sharley’s core values and behaviours, leading her to the elevated role of Melbourne Studio Leader. Elise’s leadership style comes with open communication, diligence, and commitment, contributing to team morale that is positive, confident and resilient.
Mason has overseen a number of projects coming through Perth’s retail portfolio in recent years, including the recently completed Roselea Shopping Centre and upcoming Woolworths development in Highgate. His current work includes leading design on Kardinya Shopping Centre, one of the most significant mixed-use developments currently undertaken in WA. He has an intimate knowledge of retail design, enabling him to engage with projects at all stages from master planning through to delivery on site and demonstrated leadership coordinating and focusing teams throughout.
Nic is an integral part of our Urban Development team. His urban planning and design work on WA’s ambitious METRONET project is improving station relationships with their neighbourhoods throughout Perth. He also leads Hames Sharley’s master plan work on Alkimos and Rockingham city centres. Nic has shown commitment to help staff learn and grow through our Champions of Change and mentoring programs, and he is passionate contributor to local community initiatives like Open House Perth and the Cohen Connect schools education program.
Michael is the Principal of People and Culture and is well respected by his peers, brings humour and personality to the practice and has the natural ability to encourage communication and mediation. Michael has been instrumental in the promotion of programs and initiatives received at an executive level, with particular regards to Diversity, Inclusion, and Psychological Safety.
Kelly is passionate about all aspects of administration and, in 2019, introduced a Thought Leadership Group for the Hames Sharley administrators to bring a greater level of consistency, collaboration and connection within the admin team. In addition to her role as the Managing Director’s EA, Kelly also provides administrative support to the Executive Chairman, the Board of Directors and the Executive Management Group, and is an active member of the Hames Sharley Reconciliation Action Plan and the Champions for Change Committees respectively.
Simone’s work in the contract and project management space has been instrumental to Hames Sharley’s continued success in delivering large Managing Contractor projects throughout Australia. Her diligent and rigorous approach to contract matters ensures agreeable and timely outcomes can be achieved, and changes are managed efficiently with well-considered programming and resource planning. With an affable yet clear communication style, Simone develops effective relationships with our clients, delivery partners, and teams within Hames Sharley to provide seamless project management and contract delivery outcomes
Ryan Dunham is an experienced Associate and has delivered architecture and urban design projects across several portfolios. This has included larger scale projects such as the QEIIMC Futures Masterplan, remote projects such as the Home In East Newman project, and inner city developments such as Salt Lane at Shoreline. He provides independent advisory services to a number of clients and is an active member of Hames Sharley’s Reconciliation Action Plan committee.
Rebecca is a strategic planner that understands the needs of communities and contributes significantly across the country applying an evidence-based direction to our Urban Development methodology. Not only is she a committed mentor and Champions for Change committee member at Hames Sharley Rebecca was recognised externally by being named as a Finalist for the UDIA Women in Leadership Award in 2020.
