The Bombay Sapphire Design Discovery Award 2011, Australia’s richest and most prestigious design prize, is calling for entries.
Now in its 9th year, the Bombay Sapphire Design Discovery Award supports the Australian design community through rewarding and assisting Australia’s most talented emerging designers.
Past winners include Rohan Nicol, Jon Goulder, Adam Goodrum, Lucas Chirnside, Charles Wilson, bernabeifreeman, Trent Jansen, Ilias Fotopoulos and Daniel Emma, all going on to achieve significant recognition and greater commercial success.
Entries are now open for the 2011 Award.
To be a contender in the competition your entries must:
The winner of the 1st prize will be awarded AUD$30,000 towards the commercialisation of their design, as well as a trip to a leading design fair – Index in Denmark, Design Fair in Miami or the Interior Design Fair in Belgium.
4 runners up will each receive a $2,500 cash prize, and 5 finalists will receive a $1,000 cash prize.
Entries close 2 September, with the 1st round of judging commencing on 8 September 2011. This year’s judges include Heidi Dokulil, Prof Kees Dorst, Ewan McEoin, Liane Rossler, Jennifer Sanders, Terri Winter, Richard Waller and Colin Rochestor.
Winners will be announced on 27 October 2011.
