Stylecraft’s ‘Inhabit’ space in their Sydney showroom offers clients the opportunity to test office environments with custom furnishings and a suite of functional, flexible technologies provided by POMT.

In late 2013, Piece of Mind Technology (POMT) joined a collaborative project with Stylecraft and Woods Bagot to bring to life Stylecraft’s vision of an experiential space that encapsulated the idea of activity based working (ABW).
“There has been a lot of interest and excitement around activity based working, but it’s very difficult for an organisation’s key facilities stakeholders to experience the concept – especially if they are transitioning from a more conventional office environment,” said Anthony Collins, Managing Director, Stylecraft. “With Inhabit, we wanted to replicate the office experience, complete with the technologies they would need to use to make flexible working a reality,” Collins continued.
Arranged into a dedicated, specialised zones for work, collaboration, breakout, technology and privacy, Inhabit combines a vibrant, attractive and flexible office environment with the controls and technologies required to manage the different zones effectively as well as providing users with a consistent and intuitive experience across each workspace.
“At all stages throughout the project, we have put the user experience top of mind,” said Collins. “That begins with a full induction provided by our concierge on arrival, with ongoing support available throughout the day. The technology deployed by POMT ensures that users are able to connect easily across all zones, and wherever possible use the devices and applications they already know.”
POMT supplied custom printed smartcards giving users access to individual smart lockers, meeting rooms and the Condeco room and desk booking systems. Using Condeco, each work zone, desk and meeting room can be reserved for defined periods, with booking functionality and scheduling information provided online, and also through individual screens at each of the bookable zones.
Ubiquitous secure WiFi across the entire office ensures uninterrupted connectivity for all users, both to the Internet and network resources, and to office equipment such as printers, audio visual and video conferencing.
Users can bring in their own laptops, tablets and smartphones and easily connect to screens, the interactive smart wall and video conferencing facilities, even using their own web-based video conferencing clients.
“It’s a great example of how you can optimise the effectiveness of technology – particularly collaborative systems – when the design of the spaces integrates the technology as a fundamental element,” said Jeremy Pollak, Director of Strategy and Development for POMT.
