Whether it’s furniture, fit out or finishes, Design Hub® offer expert professional solutions to all.
October 19th, 2009
As an industrial design company working within the building and furniture industry, Design Hub® offers a diverse service, specialising in three major areas. The first encompasses product design, working in close collaboration with architectural companies to supply everything from custom-designed pieces to specified furniture as one-offs and production pieces.
“A lot of what we do is custom orientated work,” says Director David Greenaway. “We manufacture to exact specification.” One of their completed projects was the Illawarra Hotel, for which they manufactured and supplied all furniture items, ranging from communal tables, utilising stainless steel, veneer finishes, stone bench tops and soft furnishings. The project architects even specified Design Hub’s ‘Chubby’ chair.
“We design and manufacture all our furniture in-house, making it easy for clients to source furniture directly from us,” says Greenaway. Other in-house products include the ‘Poline’ coffee table and the ‘Artevista®’ sculptural panels. Highly popular from the outset, ‘Artevista®’ has been specified across a variety of projects, most recently in KFC’s two-storey outlet in Haymarket, Sydney.
Design Hub’s second entity – and a highly successful part of their business is working on major projects, delivering everything from joinery and surface finishing to interiors on major projects. One of their most recent is the Stockland Waterfront Project in Canberra, for which Design Hub was commissioned to design, manufacture and install a series of sculptural pendants.
“The third arm of the business is solid surface fabrication” – all of which is designed and manufactured in-house at Design Hub. The company’s experienced team of industrial designers apply their broad knowledge in design, manufacture and application, to ensure every project brief is seen through to completion.
“Whether the project is architectural, designer, or individually birthed, we can work on all levels to be the solution to your design needs,” says Greenaway.
