Having already showcased work in 14 national design exhibitions, Keith Melbourne took to the stage in Perth last June for his first solo show.
Entitled ‘Arts Meets Engineering,’ the exhibition displayed a collection of work designed after Melbourne made the transition from engineering to design.
A range of lighting dominated the exhibition, and although artistically inspired, each piece was executed with precision engineering.
Melbourne’s ‘I Do…’ and ‘I Do… Too’ lamps – which secured his place as the winner of Indesign’s Launch Pad Lighting Award in July – were among his new pieces on display.
The range explored the latest generation of super bright Light Emitting Diode (LED) technology, which illuminated the space without any apparent lighting fixtures.
