Singapore Indesign is just round the corner and anticipation is high. As we gear up for industry event of the year, we’ve put together 10 great reasons why it’s an event you shouldn’t miss.
October 6th, 2016
#1 Be among the first to see brand new products
Many exhibitors are taking this opportunity to launch new and innovative products, including JANUS et Cie, OM Furniture, Scandinavian Business Seating, Schiavello and Sunlight Luminaire/Louis Poulsen. Kokaine will also be unveiling its newest brand offering.
In addition, visitors to Singapore Indesign will be the first in Asia to witness the unveiling of Kvadrat’s new curtain collection by Doshi Levien. They will also get to enjoy an exclusive preview of Scandinavian Business Seating’s upcoming showcase at Orgatec 2016.
#2 Learn something new at Design Conversations
At Design Conversations, thought-leaders and industry-shakers will take the stage to discuss the latest ideas, directions, trends and opportunities in design. From the fleeting definition of Southeast Asian design to the evolution of lighting in architecture to the importance of future-proofing an ageing city, these talks are one of the most anticipated facets of Singapore Indesign. Seats are limited, of course, but you can register here.
#3 Rub shoulders with international guests
It’s an industry pow-wow with a guestlist that includes some of the industry’s hottest talents. We’re excited to welcome Nipa Doshi of London-based design duo Doshi Levien. Nipa will be presenting the studio’s collaboration with Kvadrat.
OM Furniture will also be hosting international designers Sean Dix, Mario Mazzer and Kelvin Ng, all of whom will be speaking on various design topics throughout the day.
#4 Check out Instagram-worthy Installations
Exhibitors will be going all out to create Instagram-friendly moments that become the talk of the town. Here’s a sneak peek at some of the highlights:
EDL and ipli Architects will take over the façade of the Space Furniture showroom to present DEMATERIAL. The outside of the building will be visually distorted, giving it a pixellated effect that invites you to take a closer look and have a feel.
Kreon will be collaborating with Studiogoto on an abstract installation centred around a series of suspended Cloud lights, thus the name cloud FORMation. The architectural form of the cloud light fittings will sway gently in motion, creating interesting changes in light and shade.
#5 Make new connections and connect with old friends
There will be plenty of networking opportunities at Singapore Indesign, so bring your business cards.
#6 Enjoy great hospitality from the biggest brands
Exhibitors will be extending their hospitality to all guests at Singapore Indesign. To kickstart your day, join Schiavello for coffee and Panini by PUNCH from 10am – 12pm.
#7 Stand a chance to win fantastic designer prizes
Attending Singapore Indesign gives you a chance to win some really stunning designer prizes. There are more than $33,000 worth of covet-worthy prizes up for grabs, such as the Egg Chair by Fritz Hansen and HAG H09 9230 chair.
#8 See the new Indesignlive.sg
Our very own Indesignlive.sg editor Janice Seow will be making presenting our brand new website at the Curated Space (72-13 Mohamed Sultan Road) at 4.15pm. Catch her there.
