Early 20th century design meets modern technology in this ceiling fan by renowned designer Ron Rezek.
July 26th, 2011
Inspired by the ’schoolhouse’ light shade popular at the beginning of the 20th century, Ron Rezek’s Schoolhouse Ceiling Fan works well both as a light and a ceiling fan.
With its 2 x 25 watt compact fluorescent lamps generating the equivalent of a conventional incandescent lamp’s 200 watts, the Schoolhouse Ceiling Fan is perfect for large rooms that rely on a single central lighting source for illumination.
The Schoolhouse is also an environmentally friendly cooling option – the powerful fan motor uses just 65 watts of electricity on the highest setting, which equates to about 2% of the energy of an equivalent air-conditioner.
Efficient lighting and cooling dramatically reduces electricity consumption and can assist in meeting sustainable building standards. The Schoolhouse Ceiling Fan offers all of this in an appealing retro design that suits both period spaces and contemporary interiors.
The Schoolhouse Ceiling Fan is available in Australia through Spinifex Fans.
