Steelcase presents a range of lounge chairs that suggest a new approach to office break out area seating.

Whilst relaxation may not be the first thought that springs to mind when we think of the workplace, Hosu from Steelcase seeks to change all that.

In Patricia Urquiola’s own words, “Hosu is a habitat to relax, work, think and read. It’s a different approach to a work lounge that removes all formality and replaces it with comfort.”

Hosu creates a comforting personal space in which to relax and get things done. The single seat lounge comes with the option of a convertible chaise foldout. The two-seat sofa also brings two people together even if they are focused on different tasks.

Hosu features convenient rear and side storage pockets, as well as cord pass-through. Its unique textured fabric, also designed by Urquiola, is offered in six exclusive colours.

In addition, the convertible lounge comes with webbed pulls and a durable polyurethane footbed.

Recently, Hosu has won the 2013 Australian International Design Award in the Furniture and Lighting category.  As well, the product has bagged both the iF Design Award (Gold) and Red Dot Design Award – Product Design this year.
