The word Costura refers to the noble tailoring tradition that has guided the design process for centuries, and was also the name of a STUA showcase at Salone del Mobile 2016.

STUA’s Costura design aims to recall this ancient tradition, and had the renowned Spanish design company working with a range of trained artisans to create a range of upholstery that channels a tailored suit, covering the innovative structure inside. Again, STUA has delivered a unique and eye-catching design that reflects the timelessness of high quality design with a sofa collection that has equal footing in the tradition and the modern.

Designed by Jon Gasca and available in Australia through Stylecraft, the Costura collection includes and ottoman, armchair, sofa and sofa with chaise longue.

Costura features:

– Two position legs: This allows customisability for the user, who can align the legs to be straight or diagonal.
– Removable covers: The upholstery of Costura is carefully crafted with subtle tailoring details.
– Thin frame: The frame of the sofa has been carefully made of gently bent plywood, ensuring a strong and elegant body that saves a lot of space. The backrest allows the sofa to be in positioned anywhere in a living room, and also serve as a room divider.
– Pillow Style Cushions: Each seat has two cushions that act as the backrest. The larger of the two is made from foam, while the smaller is natural feather down stuffed.
