NOMI and renowned designer Henry Wilson have launched the much anticipated Chevron Shelves.

The stylish, modular shelving system draws its name from the interlocking zig-zag pattern first seen in ancient Greece. The chevron pattern informs the beautiful simplicity of the shelves – both in the way in which they are put together and the shape they create when they are stacked.

Henry’s modest and classical style is emphasized in the Chevron Shelf, with each modular shelf consisting of four pieces of precision milled Birch-ply, that fits naturally into the current NOMI range. Uniquely, the shelf comes flat packed and can be assembled easily and intuitively with no tools.

Suitable for the home or office, the Chevron Shelf can be used as a single unit for magazines, books and files, or stacked in several configurations to emphasise its unique design.

“Everything about the Chevron Shelf reflects its construction method. It achieves maximum yield from the resources used in its production”, explains designer Henry Wilson. “It’s exciting for me to see it within in the NOMI range where the full potential of its flexibility can realised. With NOMI’s colour customisation, it can be as loud or nuanced as you like”, he says.

The Chevron Shelves can be customised in both size and colour, with a stunning array of subtler pastel colours being introduced with this range including ethereal greens, teals, olives and rose, allowing the NOMI consumer to customise to suit their project or aesthetic.

NOMI director and co-founder, Henry Gresson, states, “Our mission is to combine innovative design with efficient manufacturing and cutting edge online technology. Henry’s Chevron Shelf epitomize this mission and we are very excited to have him on board.”

“The collaboration with Henry is an evolution of our vision for NOMI to be an outlet for talented and innovative designers to bring their ideas to reality” adds NOMI director and co-founder Michael Grassi. “Henry is an accomplished designer who shares our passion for making designer furniture accessible to the broader market” he says.

The point of difference with the Chevron Shelves is their accessible price point, with a unit starting from as little as $150. “Comparatively speaking, there is very little out there on the market that allows you to own a piece of designer furniture for under $200”, expounds Grassi.
