All walks of design come together under one roof to support Australian designers
June 23rd, 2009
This Is Not A Design Market is set to launch in design-capital Melbourne on Sunday 19 July and aims to support Australian designers of all disciplines.
Everything from lighting, furniture, fashion, homewares and graphic design will be on show as a part of the State Design Festival.
Melbourne events company, Bigger Than Ten Bears (BTTB), and top design team, Moth Design, have joined forces to create this unique event. The market is possibly the first of many, with other states preparing themselves for similar events.
At the market you will find a range of prominent names such as fashion designer Leonard St., homewares brand Third Drawer Down and graphic designer Studio Pip and Co.
The launch of This Is Not A Design Market coincides with the launch of the very venue where the market is held. The Factory, located at 500 Latrobe Street, Melbourne, has been renovated by founder Corina Baldwin and its new look is sure to impress the market goers as much as the products themselves.
The market kicks off at 10am and finishes at 5pm and is open to the public free of charge. With all-day music and special art installations it would be a shame for any design junkie to miss it.
