August 26th, 2011
Australian and international architects have come together in response to emergency recovery.
On display from 1 September to 3 September, the Emergency Shelter Exhibition features unique designs for structural protection, highlighting the need for emergency response in disaster zones while raising public awareness of the building industry’s role in the aftermath of natural disasters and emergency response.
Architects’ interactive shelters on display at Customs House forecourt include Ateliers Jean Nouvel, PTW Architects, Tonkin Zulaikha Greer, COX Richardson, LAVA, Sou Fujimoto, Terunobu Fujimori and Koichi Takada Architects.
The exhibition also includes A1 panels submitted by students from the University of Technology Sydney, University of New South Wales, University of Sydney and Queensland University of Technology.
The event is presented by a collaboration between Jun Sakaguchi of PTW and Elsie Attoh of The Arc Agency.
