Celebrating the Perfect Imperfect

Perfect Imperfect, the beauty of accident, age & patina – a book by Karen McCartney, Sharyn Cairns & Glen Proebstel was launched in Living Edge’s Sydney showroom last Thursday night and was a great success with a turnout of about 200 guests from the Australian design industry.

Perfect Imperfect takes the Japanese principle of wabi-save as its driving principle, and advocates for the beauty to be found in imperfection, impermanence and the authentic. The book explores established aesthetic schemes in new ways, through the homes and studios of international and Australian creatives.
