Move-In: Turn-key FF&E that embraces local craftsmanship
Published

Australia’s renowned furniture, fittings & equipment outfitter creates versatile, tailor-made solutions that foster a collaborative design approach and promotes local talent.
With 20 years of specialised experience spanning an array of successful projects, Move-in is an unquestionable leader in delivering high volume, turn-key FF&E services for a variety of clients and spaces. The company that started as an innovative response to the emerging requirements for turn-key furnishing packages back in 2002, today sets new standards for redefining the potential of bespoke FF&E solutions to stimulate local designers and makers.
With their brand ethos firmly led by design principles, Move-in has the capability to build upon existing designs or create brand-new and custom-made solutions for any size or type of space. The team works closely with their partners to provide guidance and support throughout the process – be it procurement, budgeting and value management, or organising samples and material finishes – right through to delivery, installation and after-sales care. Move-in handles the entire process from A-Z.

Their latest collaboration with architectural firm Cottee Parker Architects and developer Far East Consortium for West Side Place is an excellent example of Move-In’s immaculate engagement at every level of the process. The FF&E leader provided furnishings and styling for the diverse social spaces for two towers housing a total of over 2800 residents.
Ranging from residential foyers, private dining rooms and a library to karaoke, virtual golf and pool areas, Move-in co-created luxurious social spaces. A selection of curated fabrics and furniture pieces, commissioned artworks by Kerry Armstrong and Susie Raleigh and floral arrangements by Hattie Molloy resulted in a series of beautifully distinctive interiors. ‘Move-in exceeded our expectations,’ says Aaron Parfitt, Senior Development Manager of Far East Consortium. ‘The results are exceptional. Move-in’s turn-key solution offered savings and certainty, and their collaborative work ethic was highly valued with all our stakeholders.’ He goes on to praise Move-in’s ability to deliver on time and on budget even in the most challenging of times: ‘West Side Place was delivered during the pandemic without time or cost penalty and demonstrated their ability to find solutions during some of the toughest times.’

Further testament to Move-in’s ability to deliver market-leading turn-key FF&E on a significant scale, the brand was engaged to design, supply and install FF&E and styling services at Punthill Ivanhoe, a complex of 52 serviced apartments. With their focus on design and a commitment to elevate local talent and craftsmanship, Move-in collaborated with Australian artisans and manufacturers to incorporate limited-edition prints, custom ceramics and exclusive bed heads and lighting.
Resulting from a previous collaboration with the Punthill brand, Punthill Ivanhoe was yet another elegantly timeless project delivered by the team. Laura White, Punthill’s Group Operations Manager, sums it up eloquently: ‘The team at Move-in are incredible. Their stylistic design and appreciation of locally-sourced artwork helped us create a tasteful and lasting look.’

The collaboration with Punthill isn’t the only example of Move-in’s commitment to building long-lasting relationships with its partners. The Student Housing Company and Move-in have been collaborating for over two years now. They completed four large scale projects, with a fifth partnership well underway. One of the recently completed developments – Royal Parade – is an embodiment of community spirit, with the FF&E playing a pivotal role in creating the desired sense of a collective.

Custom-branded game tables and floor cushions give the space a unique look and feel, elevating the notion of comfortable communal living. Tim Glass, the Operations Manager at the Student Housing Company, says proudly: ‘We have developed diverse, high-quality accommodation focused on a strong sense of community and student wellbeing. The team at Move-in have proven to be a valued partner in executing our vision through their expertise, professionalism, and willingness to find mutually beneficial solutions to achieve the client’s needs.’
With their design-driven ethos, comprehensive end-to-end offering, commitment to creating long-lasting, partnerships – and dedication to promoting local craftsmanship, Move-in certainly sets a new standard for FF&E and there’s no doubt they lift the bar higher with every project.
