Waves of change: PMG Group elevates a Sydney workplace from ordinary to exceptional

True transformation celebrates what’s already strong and finds smart ways to make it even better.  It’s this approach that Sydney-based design and build firm PMG Group and global property and digital infrastructure group Goodman took when reinventing the Level 3 tenancy at Talavera Corporate Centre, 26 Talavera Road in Sydney’s Macquarie Park. By focusing on intelligent reuse, a coastal-inspired palette, and elegant curves, the design team have showcased how strategic design interventions can completely reframe a once-ordinary tenancy. The result? A high-impact speculative suite designed to appeal as much to the senses as to the market.

PMG Group approached the project as an exercise in restraint. By retaining around 60 per cent of the existing furniture and 20 per cent of the built zones, reduced waste and preserved value without compromising on the design vision.

Circulation was reworked to create a natural rhythm between focused and collaborative zones, and new enclosed offices and formal meeting rooms were introduced to meet the needs of the modern workplace. The palette – sandy neutrals, blush tones, and blue accents – evokes the fluidity of the “waves” concept, creating a serene atmosphere that encourages focused work.

Curved detailing is found throughout – from wall panels to joinery – to create a space that feels welcoming and visually cohesive. Importantly, however, the space is also functionally welcoming, with textured wall panels that enhance acoustic comfort while reducing visual hardness.

Material choices also play a powerful role in the transformation.
