#26 Sideboard

Available in two sizes, the iconic #26 sideboard was designed in 1959 and features Arne Vodder’s trademark organic drawers.

Legendary Danish designer Arne Vodder returns to the world stage under a ground-breaking partnership with Australia’s Great Dane Furniture that sees a range of his mid-century furniture brought back into production nearly 60 years after their conception.

The range includes Vodder’s iconic #26 sideboard, with its organic shapes and unusual combination of timber, metal and colour. 

Designed in the late 1950s and early 1960s for Sibast, the Arne Vodder range includes an authentic selection of some of the architect’s finest pieces.

Offering a soft modernism with smooth clean lines, organic curves and the flawless craftsmanship for which Vodder is known and loved, the range also includes two dining tables, two chests of drawers, a bedside table, a hall table and a coffee table.

The pieces are crafted in Denmark from American walnut and European oak by Danish cabinetmakers working to Vodder’s exacting specifications, in a production process approved and overseen by the architect himself.

Vodder’s designs from the period, with their stylish materials and exacting proportions, remain contemporary and modern; in strong demand more than 50 years after they were last produced.

“Arne said the project would keep him alive for a few more days and it did, but sadly on the evening of December 27th he passed away. The truth is it will keep him alive forever in design history. We have lost a great talent and a true friend.”
