Sprawled over 145-square-metres, CreativeCubes.Co is a swanky new coworking office with a modern and disruptive design approach. The space embraces today’s collaborative work methodologies in its design to cater to the varied needs of small, medium and enterprise businesses. Designed by Corso Interior Architecture, the coworking space was also announced the winner of the Best Commercial Design at the Melbourne Polytec Awards 2019.
Appearing both visually compelling and intuitive, the space has been split into five zones. Currently, it accommodates four individual businesses, a yoga space, café as well as workstations. The area can also be used for events like corporate meetings, presentations and product launches.
The brickwork and concrete floors, part of the building’s original design, have been retained to lend a modern warehouse appeal to the office. Timber accents work to lend textural diversity while the use of potted greenery helps soften up the interior aesthetic.
With enhanced user experience embedded deeply in the design framework, Corso Interior Architecture has spared no effort in ensuring the comfort and wellbeing for those working there. Particular attention has been paid to hydration by integrating the Zip HydroTap and HydroChill in the kitchen’s design. Offering employees instant on-demand, filtered boiling, chilled and sparkling water, the Zip HydroTap works to further the growing demands of this modern coworking space. The HydroChill also delivers pure tasting, filtered water – chilled, ambient or sparkling – making it ideal for corporate or commercial use.
From a design perspective, the HydroTap tap has been finished in black and blends in discreetly into the existing interior scheme. In addition to its sleek and stylish form, the Zip HydroTap is also energy efficient and environmentally responsible. The tap serves as a fitting extension of CreativeCubes.Co’s belief in improving health and wellbeing in the workplace.
To open up space and avoid the use of physical barriers to separate areas, the interior architecture studio has pivoted to smart design alternatives like the use of light and colour. A palette of five primary colours has been worked into LED strips and tonal finishes, colour blocking breakout spaces to provide an additional layer of segmentation.
Oversized windows ensure that the common areas are bathed in natural lighting through the day. The meditative spaces and screening zones, on the other hand, have been intentionally left dark. For better noise control and to ensure optimal focus for those working, the whole office has been acoustically treated.
Through its responsive design, the coworking space creates room for both work and play, in turn demonstrating the future of work.
