Seeho Su has brought Swedish design icon Gärsnäs down under, launching the legendary design brand in Australia.
The history of Sweden’s Gärsnäs goes back to 1893, when the company founded as a family-owned business with a factory in Österlen, where it remains today, complimented by a showroom in Stockholm. From the start, the brand has specialized in quality wooden furniture, and a craftsmanship that has been passed down the generations in natural succession, with a design philosophy based on long-termism, sustainability and that the details make up the whole. With the entire Gärsnäs range now available from Seeho Su, we decided to pick out three favourites from the collection to shine the spotlight on…
The Pop Sofa, designed by Pierre Sindre and Patrik Bengtsson is a modular sofa series with back and armrest, cushions and seat upholstered in fabric or leather. Fitted with low, medium high or high sound-absorbing backrests, available in rattan, lined with Elmonordic leather, Pop sofa has a solid wooden frame in either ash or beech with a padded pocket sprung seat. The complimentary tables in the Pop range are either free standing or able to be fixed to the sofa – Pop is a versatile series that can be customised to suit any commercial interior.
Designed by David Ericsson, the Hedwig is an easy chair with solid natural beech frame. The back and seat covered with vegetable tanned leather available in natural, black, cognac and dark brown colours.
The creative and inventive duo Färg & Blanche launched the Julius Sofa: a generous and inviting sofa and matching easy chair. Julius is made using the revolutionary technique of wood tailoring, which effectively sees the furniture being sewn together. Wood, padding and fabric have been joined together by this pioneering technique, which saw Färg & Blanche named the joint ‘Designer of the Year 2016’ by Residence Magazine.
These three designer pieces, along with the entire range of Gärsnäs furniture and accessories, is available in Australia exclusively from Seeho Su.
