Introducing a new initiative by Bayliss and sister company, Artvivant International Textiles.
July 6th, 2010
In response to the lack of handcrafted affordable conceptual art, Bayliss have launched the ART by Bayliss project, to make their textiles accessible to all via a new medium.
Launched on 10 June, the occasion was marked with an industry party for press, architects and designers in Sydney.
The ART works are textiles on timber frames, featuring 3D designs such as ‘Twigs’ or ‘Raffia’.
Bayliss can be the one stop shop for all your soft furnishing needs including cushions, lamp shades, curtains or blinds, topped off with a piece of couture textile ART by Artvivant.
Artvivant is known for its contemporary designs and unconventional application of natural materials.
The signature piece is crafted using lengths of black bamboo, interwoven with strips of Indian Sari fabric direct from Bombay.
Each piece is hand made in Sydney and each piece can be custom-built to meet your size or fabric requirements.
There are 30 pieces currently available, ranging between $400 and $650.
