US based designers, Aaron Thomas and Anne Ewen, have created the stunning Chandelirium- a modern minimal fantasy of a chandelier.
June 2nd, 2008
The newest creation to come to fruition via the minds of US designers, Aaron Thomas and Anne Ewen, is the Chandelirium.
A contemporary shadow of a chandelier, the playful yet seriously designed piece resembles what could only be described as a child’s doodle drawing- or for the creative minds- a mammoth cluster of chewing gum.
The designers behind the striking piece are known for their process, used in past designs, whereby they hand-weave and loop strips of re-claimed acrylic to create each unique sculpted pendulum lights.
The self-supporting structure of interwoven clear and white acrylic strips creates a nest of ribbons around a 7" globe in a polished nickel fixture.
Aaron Thomas designed a similar custom piece that was used as a ballroom centerpiece at Tiger Woods’ charity event, “Tiger Jam X” in Los Angeles.
ARTae studio and gallery in Orange County, California, currently houses the Chandelirium. Custom designs available via info@aaronrthomas.com.
