Photographers ’take the time to look’ at WA’s dramatic landscape.
February 10th, 2010
As part of the 2009 FORM’s P.Hotography program, Pilbara photographers were invited to tell the story of their region through a collection of 100 captivating images.
More than 50 local photographers and some of Australia’s most renowned photographers met in a project aimed at portraying the Pilbara and its different faces over an exhibition of 100 captivating images.
Bringing together beginners and advanced photographers over a series of practical workshops, Pilbara photographers were given the opportunity to enhance their camera skills under the guidance of top photographers to capture the different perspectives of the area.
‘I took the time to look’: Perspectives of the Pilbara will open at the Port Hedland Courthouse Gallery on 11 February alongside ‘From Somewhere Else’, a collection of paintings and drawings by four local artists about the experiences of moving to and leaving a regional town.
The exhibitions will run from 12 February – 12 April 2010 at the Courthouse Gallery.
