Hassell completes work on the Royal North Shore Kolling Building.

Hassell have announced the completion of the Kolling Building – the first in the redevelopment of the Royal North Shore Campus.

The $92 million facility relocates the campus’ medical research, previously scattered across 20 buildings.

With strong connections to the new main hospital building, the project aims to link the acute care area with staff involved in active clinical research.

The facilities include research laboratories, lecture theatres, animal housing and quarantine areas in the basement – meeting strict certification standards – as well as office space and meeting rooms.

“The Kolling Building is a significant milestone in our commitment to rebuild and revitalise the Royal North Shore Hospital site,” says John Della Bosca MP – NSW Minister for Health.

“The building was jointly funded by the University of Sydney, and its completion marks the start of a new era in clinical research and education.”

The focus on the facility is upon imporving human health – specialising in of Cancer, Renal and Cardiovascular Research, Pain Management, Bone and Joint research and Perinatal research.
