Residential project wins accolades for innovation
This residential house, in Cape Schanck, Victoria, has qualities worthly of serious recognition.

Designed by Paul Morgan Architects (PMA), this small coastal house recieved due praise at the (inside) Design Excellence Awards: idea07 in November, where it was announced as the residential winner, as well as the overall winner for design excellence.
The design was judged on its form, interior, environmental credentials, materials, site location and boundary-pushing design.
Further acknowledging the excellence in the design, the Cape Schanck house won the 2007 National RAIA Robin Boyd Award for Residential Architecture. This major accolade followed a Houses Award in the 2007 RAIA Awards Victorian Chapter.

Slightly futuristic, while at the same time retro-esque, the interior of the home boasts a striking structural multipurpose trunk as a centrepiece (pictured). Working as structural support as well as a water storage tank, innovation takes new form in this impressive feat of design.
