Indesignlive speaks to Living Tiles founder and director John Paul Patane about the company’s history and future direction.

What does your company supply?

Living Tiles specialises in the supply of the latest designs and trends of tiles for all applications, no project too large or small.

 

Tell us about the history of the company.

Directors John-Paul Patane & Vito Marzullo began Living Tiles out of Vito’s spare bedroom just 8 short years ago. After working together for now the world’s largest tile manufacturer RAK Ceramics, they saw a need in the marketplace for a personalised and tailored service in the industry. Leaving with a handful of clients, they were determined to build a successful business and have just recently opened a 300sqm showroom in Rozelle which displays over 3000 different tiles.

 

Where do you distribute?

Predominantly in the NSW market, but we have a network of clients Australia-wide and work with international companies, distributing their products to Asia and other countries.

 

What sets your company apart?

Having the ability to focus on our clients’ needs and sourcing suitable products for their projects. With strong relationships overseas, Living Tiles is able to offer superior quality tiles at affordable prices. We’re constantly updating our products and working closely with manufacturers who promote eco-friendly products.

 

What is good design to you?

Good design is measured by the client’s satisfaction with the end result. From concept to completion the design will endure many changes, and at the end of the journey the design will show the fruits of the labour.

 

What does the future hold for Living Tiles?

The future of Living Tiles is looking bright. Much of the success to date comes from promoting European products. Living Tiles will continue to focus on importing and distributing these products and increase the company’s presence in architectural & design firms.
