Meet Mike and Maaike from San Francisco, who joined forces to avoid "preconceived and static goals" - not just for the catchy name.

"We joined to form a collaborative that experiments on subjects that we find challenging, surprising and useful. By using experimentation as a collaborative work process we develop strong conceptual foundations and therefore do not attempt to arrive at a preconceived and static goals. We mix our diverse high-tech and low-tech design background with our collage of interests to create products, wearables and art pieces, most of which are in search of perpetual motion and human interaction."

Meet Maaike Evers
Born, bred, and educated in the Netherlands, Maaike Evers (pronounced MYY-kuh) brings a progressively dutch and uniquely female perspective to design. Equally inspired by the tradition of craft and the potential of industry, she has developed complex high-tech products as well as artful and personal objects. Maaike was formerly a senior designer at Fitch Inc. and a design director at Lunar Design where she managed award-winning projects for a diverse range of companies including HP, Adidas, Heath Ceramics, Palm, and Iomega. Maaike graduated Cum Laude from the Academy of Industrial Design in Eindhoven.

Meet Mike Simonian
Originally from Los Angeles, Mike Simonian offers an unorthodox perspective. Mike likes to bend the rules of physics, while with a true California spirit, combines optimism, critical thinking, and truth as natural elements of his work. Formerly a senior designer at Astro Studios and Fitch Inc., as well as a founding partner in Flowlab skateboards, Mike’s designs have received numerous patents and recognition including ID magazine’s best of category and inclusion in the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art. Mike studied industrial design in the U.S. and in Europe at the Art Center College of Design.
