Indesign’s Orgatec soirée

The grey skies of Cologne were not enough to dampen the spirits for an Aussie design cohort. Coming together at the Radisson Blu, our Orgatec event was the perfect backdrop for the community to share a drink and swap stories.

Right across the road from the Koelnmesse, the enormous fairground that the commercial furniture trade fair Orgatec takes over every second year, Indesign welcomed a contingent of Asia Pacific designers and architects who made their way over to Cologne to learn the latest insights into the evolving taxonomy of commercial design.

The night was a welcome break from the cooler climes, and the plush bar of the Radisson Blu played host to flowing drinks and a convivial atmosphere. A crowd of over 100 people gathered to mingle, share stories and toast to a successful Orgatec. 

From suppliers and brands to architects and designers of all disciplines, it was a night to kick back and indulge in some downtime halfway through Orgatec’s biggest fair to date. Guests included Monica Pedrali, Gavin Harris, Keith MelbourneAdam Cornish, Bonnie and Anton Schiavello, Aidan and Jo Mawhinney of Living Edge, Richard Munao who is also exhibiting Nau this year, David Granger from Bang Design, Tony Sutton of Woven Image, Mark and Caron from Ke-Zu, Andrew Green from Flokk, team Zenith, Dean Kusch from ThinkingWorks, Jo and Holly from District, Alistair, Adrian and Jason from Wilkhahn, Sam from Walter Knoll, Jason Bird from Luxxbox, John McClure from Gunnersens, the Peter’s from ownworld, plus many more, including guests from Singapore, New Zealand, Hong Kong and the Netherlands.
