Scrubba-dub-dub we’re all in a lather: its Cersaie time again. Nicky Lobo is on the ground in Bologna reporting back on the latest in bathing

Once a year the Italian city of Bologna becomes the epicentre of the bathing world.

Officially titled: ’The International Exhibition of Ceramic Tile and Bathroom Furnishings’, Cersaie (pron. Churr-sigh) is where the bathroom door is quite literally unlocked, flung open and the best in bathrooms and bathware are well and truly on show.

Here we present Nicky Lobo’s picks from day one of the fair.

What is it? Sculpted taps by US brand, Graff.

What we liked about it: Good to see the Americans stepping up at the Euro-dominated fair.

What is it? Magnetic shower heads by Visentin, Italy.

What we liked about it: In a range of pretty colours, with an intuitive magnetic fixing.

What is it?: Timber vanities by Matteo Thun and Duravit

What we liked about it: Beautiful, slim lined vanities manufactured from local, European-sourced timbers.

What is it?: Coloured and quirky radiators from Antrax, Italy.

What we liked about it: The form of these products has been getting more refined in past years, and now bursting with rich hues and cool designs.

What we liked about it: Beautiful products, beautifully displayed.

What is it?: Tubes Exhibition Stand

What we liked about it: Inspirational styling, Tubes installed soft elements and highlighted the inspiration for their new designs.

What is it?: Colour gradation by Catalano, Italy

What we liked about it: We’re seeing it in clothing and interior furnishing and textiles, now see colour move in subtle ways in ceramics.
