The Okamura Singapore showroom welcomed friends from the design and architecture community last Thursday as it played host to a captivating Design Conversation organised by IndesignliveAsia. Titled Is Hybrid Work Model Successful? the panel discussion convened some of Singapore’s leading workplace experts to share their insights on this matter.
The distinguished panel consisted of Joanne Morris, Head of Design and Delivery, Asia at Unispace; Pamela Jouwena, Associate, Strategy at Hassell; and Steven Louie, an independent consultant with over 50 years of experience in workplace design. Moderated by Vanitha Pavapathi, the Editor or Cubes and IndesignliveAsia, the session delved into how the success and shortcomings of the hybrid work model are evaluated, providing valuable guidance on creating an optimal hybrid workplace environment that empowers employees.
The enlightening evening also featured a presentation by Rasmus Toome, Global Account Manager at Silen, who discussed his company’s sustainable and modular acoustic pods designed to provide privacy and minimise disruptions in the office. Additionally, Shawn Eng, Asia Pacific Director at Okamura, introduced the latest innovations from the leading office furniture manufacturer, shared insights into the science of ergonomics, and offered tips for selecting the best task chair.
The redesigned Okamura Singapore showroom showcased several of Okamura’s latest workplace solutions, including the Lives Post+Beam partitions and connections, OC Portable Battery, Work Carrier table and the Sphere chair – the very chair the panellists sat on during the session. The responsive Sphere chair, valued at S$1,280 took centre stage as the grand prize in the evening’s lucky draw. Other lucky draw prizes included the Cynara and Striker chairs, worth S$990 and S$999 respectively.
Okamura’s generosity extended beyond the prizes, as guests were treated to delectable food and beverages, creating a delightful atmosphere for networking and conversation. The event concluded with attendees toasting, conversing and capturing memorable moments. If you were part of this enriching event, reminisce through the gallery and relive the vibrant moments of the evening!
