The shortlisted projects in The Building category at the 2023 INDE.Awards showcase the best of architecture and design and highlight the incredible breadth of talent that resides within our region.

The shortlist that comprises The Building category this year are a disparate group of outstanding architectural projects. From civic and institutional projects through to residences, a Viewing Shelter and even a Surf Life Saving Club, the projects speak for themselves when it comes to excellent form, function, sustainability and aesthetics.
As the most notable buildings located in the Indo-Pacific, the shortlisted projects in The Building category are sympathetic to place, reflect the culture of the country and the aspirations of the client. While great architecture and design is of course evident, it is sustainability on myriad levels that unifies these projects.
As supporter of The Building, Kaolin exemplifies the ideals of this category with sustainability key to its business and product offerings. Providing tiles that are sustainable, aesthetically pleasing and best practice in design, Kaolin is ensuring that the future is in safe hands. As are all 12 of the practitioners within the shortlist.

As a shortlist this is a formidable group that represents the diversity of excellent architecture and design in the region. This is architecture that has been created to enhance life, study, work and play. With new builds and adaptive reuse projects in the mix, there is every design perspective and each project makes its mark in the landscape.
