The Handleless Kitchen

Meet the ArtLine collection of built-in appliances from Miele, now in Graphite Grey.

Open plan living has inspired numerous design trends, with the overarching objective being to create a clean, understated, uncluttered and minimalist ambience in the home. Directly addressing this segment, leading luxury kitchen appliance manufacturer Miele has introduced the new ArtLine built-in collection that dispenses with handles, incorporates automatic doors, features full glass fronts to blend in seamlessly with flush face kitchen cabinets, and promotes the concept of total appliance integration in the modern designer kitchen.

The ArtLine series of built-in kitchen appliances, now available in the stylish new Graphite Grey finish, features a complete range of products from the current Miele range – entirely without handles to create the first truly handleless kitchen from Miele. The handleless collection includes ovens, steam ovens with microwave and combination steam ovens as well as a coffee machine, hob units, a warmer drawer, a vacuum-sealing drawer, a wine conditioning unit, various refrigeration products, and dishwashers with Knock2open technology, rounding off the range with several cooker hood models that disappear discreetly behind furniture fronts when switched off.

Technically based on Miele’s Generation 6000 collection of built-in appliances, the ArtLine range differs on one specific design feature – the handle. The conventional handle is replaced by Touch2Open, an innovative sensor integrated into the fascia panel of the appliance that opens the motor-assisted door at a gentle touch. Similarly, the intuitive touch controls of the M Touch display are designed to deliver a smartphone-like interactive experience with simple selection of functions, settings and programmes.

Commenting on the ArtLine range, Gernot Trettenbrein, Director of Domestic Appliances International at Miele says kitchen cabinetry and machines coexist harmoniously in the latest collection – understated and elegant at the same time. When put together with the familiar ContourLine, PureLine and Signature series and all their colour and feature options, Miele customers have the creative freedom to design their kitchens around their own personal preferences.

The ArtLine series of built-in appliances is due to be launched in Singapore in January 2017.
