Smeg’s new push-to-open dishwasher

2015 is marking a new era in kitchen design. New elegant kitchen finishes coming from Smeg’s neighbours in northern Italy are making news around the world for being more refined than ever – and impossibly thin. Smeg’s push-to-open dishwasher conceals a power-house of intuitive technology behind a fully integrated fascia that is in lock-step with the colour and design palette of the rest of the kitchen. It takes aesthetics to the next level with cobalt blue interior LED light, and due to its quite operation features a discreet flashing light that hits the floor (and not the eye) to indicate that the dishwasher is in action. The gratifyingly gentle ‘push to open’ mechanism requires a 2 second hold to activate, to prevent accidental opening, and has the serendipitous advantage that you can open the door with your hip when you have your hands full.

Smeg’s push-to-open dishwasher is also a green machine – the 315 series of being the first 6 Star water rated dishwashers in Australia. Their performance, based on Smeg’s unique orbital wash arm operation, is unquestionable with the freestanding version being recommended by Choice 3 surveys in a row.
