For the New Zealand based design and engineering team at Methven, the VJet Tūroa was a personal project. Inspired by the familiar forms and materials of New Zealand, the shower is of intuitive, precisely balanced and distinct design. With VJet technology, the result is a simple, easy to use unit that provides a unique tailored showering experience like no other on the market.
The shower is one of the only places in the home where we have some time to ourselves where we can think, escape, soothe, recover, prepare, or unwind. Methven’s new shower is the first shower to evolve with you.
Because your showering needs change, Methven set out to create an experience that evolves with you. VJet’s cleverly hidden channels create spirals of water, precisely released through individual nozzles. Its smooth handset slider allows you to activate a seamless transition -personalised by you. From a firm, invigorating shower spray to a gentle, enveloping warmth and everything in between. Whether you’re in need of revitalisation, relaxation or simply getting clean, VJet is the first shower technology uniquely tailored by you.
Methven chose to craft the Tūroa shower design from high-grade stainless steel. They selected stainless steel, not only for its durable properties, but because the manufacturing process does not require chrome-plating which can be harmful for the environment. Additionally, this material may be future collected, reused and repurposed into new products -Methven’s inaugural step in their pursuit for a circular economy.

The VJet Tūroa shower technology delivers both the transformational experience while also maintaining a water-saving flow rate. It operates on mains pressure, operating at 100k-500kPa, and 9 litres per minute with wide-spray coverage. Its flexible rail makes installation easier, and its finish and faceplate is easy to clean. The stainless steel shower is available in several popular configurations, ideal for both new builds and renovations.
These design, water-saving and experience qualities combined, add up to a shower champion; and as such, the VJet Tūroa shower is the winner of both The Red Dot® Product Design Award 2018 and the Australian Good Design® Best in Class –both acknowledgements reaffirming Methven’s global leadership in shower design and technology.
