Klaro Industrial Design has recently set up its new HQ amongst the vibrant community of Sydney’s Inner West. A bustling heartbeat of human centric design, the new space acts as a go facility for K.I.D customers to invite their own clients to view options, get sign offs, and build community connections. K.I.D Studio is a unique space of experimentation and vivacious creativity where one is likely to find prototypes mingling with half cooked designs. Adorned with nature and elements of biophilic design, the workspace makes full use of the health benefits of natural light, air and plants to keep the atmosphere feeling bright and welcoming.
“We are looking to bring a “Slow fashion” philosophy and apply it to commercial interior products, to reduce landfill and support local manufacturing. By spending the time to develop and nurture relationships with our makers, we can respond quickly to clients and fulfil briefs, knowing that we have done the homework for them.”

This commitment to quality and sustainability is visible in every stage of design – from intent through to distribution. Klaro draws on its multidisciplinary experience in sculpture, architectural design and commercial fitouts to provide a fresh perspective in its concise product range which spans across seating, storage and workstations. Employing a mindset of ‘borrowing’ rather than ‘using’ materials allows Klaro design to approach every step of production with sustainability and longevity in mind.
One of K.I.D’s most notable products includes the OBLONG desk, table and workstation system – a component based, dual origin system with remarkable configuration flexibility. Other unique pieces by Klaro Design include the Zero umbilical for its material circularity, the sustainable and biophilic Grove planter, and the incredibly soft EASY commercial grade chair. An added draw to K.I.D’s processes is that all of its pieces exist in easy to use virtual form – with Revit parametric families and SketchUp 3D models available on request.
