Kaldewei: Germany’s first certified bathroom fixtures company
Kaldewei have had a commitment to environmental sustainability before the idea even had a name. For 90 years now, the company has been manufacturing high quality enamel products exclusively from natural materials.
Kaldewei’s consistent materials philosophy also encompasses lifecycle design, with all baths and shower trays made of Kaldewei steel enamel (3.5mm) – able to be used as raw materials in the recycling process at the end of their lifespan.
In recognition of this ongoing dedication to the environment, Kaldewei has become the first German bathroom fixtures company to be awarded the ISO 14025 certificate from the IBU.
Eco-friendly construction is already shaping the future of our homes and cities, and it is certifications such as these that ensure products assess the use of resources, energy use and emissions produced across the entire manufacturing and ‘end of life’ processes.
Under this certification process a product’s properties and overall performance are also subject to extremely tough evaluation criteria. Kaldewei steel enamel 3.5 mm bath and shower trays offer an outstanding environmental scorecard when compared to acrylic baths and shower trays.
With environmentally sound manufacturing, packaging, transport and disposal procedures – along with a 30-year guarantee – Kaldewei products are perfect for eco-friendly construction projects.
Kaldewei is available in Australia through Bathe. View the collections online at bathe.net.au
