There’s a reason why Midj’s tagline is ‘Midj in Italy’ – it boils down to the fact that it is a company with deep traditions in Italian production. From a roll call of the best Italian design talent to bringing in and maintaining artisanal crafts, Midj is embedded in Italian design.
Midj has been designing and innovating since it was founded back in 1987, that’s over 30 years of ongoing development and refinement. The history and tradition of furniture making seep into all facets of the company and comes back to the very place that it is set up – Cordovado, Italy. Cordovado is positioned in the north, not far from Veneto. Historically it is a place associated with paper and textile production, dating as far back as the 15th century. It is fitting then that hundreds of years later, the ongoing refinement and development of handcrafted furniture is flourishing.
The heart and soul of Midj can be found through its carefully crafted product. What may be less known is its industrial capacity to produce large quantities alongside advanced technology; all while keeping a firm sandpapered grip on every piece that goes out of the factory.
In addition to honing the craft and continually testing out the latest advancements in technology, Midj constantly collaborates with the best designers from Italy and Europe. The result? Products that combine cutting-edge research and development with a product built to last a lifetime.
Some of the key designers in the Midj line-up include Archirivolto, Atelier Nanni, Roberto Paolo, Beatriz Sempere and Paolo Vernier. With such an incredible talent pool to work with, each Midj product brings something special and unique while maintaining a cohesive language.
