This biological aesthetic inspired GH Commercial’s Australian team to create the new Biomorphic Collection, a stunning range of carpets that capture the intricate organic networks of the world beyond what our eyes perceive. The collection elevates flooring into a living, breathing, layer within a space, illustrating the forms and dynamics of the living landscape.
This depiction of the infinitely small mirrors the patterns of grand landscape expanses. Resemblances to stone ridges, forest ecosystems and ocean territories are evoked through synergies of pattern, texture and colour, strengthening the biophilic sense of connection between human and place.
The Biomorphic Collection has been designed at three scales, each embodying a different level of microscopic magnification. This gives the effect of zooming in and out of a living system, beholding the flow between elements.
Slide 01 presents a more balanced composition, with a step back to reveal how movement and structure coexist. The interaction between light and dark, linear and curved echoes the overlapping of organic forms within the natural world. This gives it a strong resonance for spaces where flow and connectivity are key such as social zones and transition areas.
Slide 02 is at the more detailed end of the spectrum. The design is dense, textural and layered, mirroring the complexity of cellular networks and drawing visual attention. It aligns itself with areas such as feature zones where impact is the goal.
Slide 03 presents a detailed, aerial view, with an open and expansive pattern that features more negative space and a calm visual rhythm. It lends itself to large, open environments and floorplates where design aims to achieve a sense of cohesion and aesthetic unity.
The delicate and intricate nature of the visual appearance is a contrast to the exceptionally robust construction. The carpet tiles have been fabricated using Designer Jet® technology and a materiality that is independently rated Contract Extra Heavy Duty & Stairs. This is ideal for busy commercial, hospitality or public space zones, ensuring the flooring is resilient, durable and retains its allure through many seasons.
Equally robust is the colour range. The Biomorphic Collection captures the strong hues of the natural world – deep iron-rich ochres and siennas, verdant greens, intense deep blues and slates. It moves the nature-centric design dial toward the boldness, energy and power of the lifeforce, while embracing the textures and patterns that are energising, grounding and beneficial for human wellbeing.

The range is also proudly Declare® Red List Free. This certification means the products and manufacturing process have been transparently disclosed to contain no chemicals on the Living Future Oceania’s Red List of substances known to pose risks to human health and the environment.

It gives architects and designers confidence that the carpet tiles align with the requirements of green building rating schemes including Green Star, Living Building Challenge, WELL and LEED projects.
