From Andalucia with love: Designer Rugs launch collection by House of Heras

Designer Rugs proudly presents the ‘Gardens of Andalucia’ collection, a new range crafted by the revered boutique design studio, House of Heras.
Designer Rugs launches the ‘Gardens of Andalucia‘ collection, a series of rugs, featuring seven distinct designs, created by the boutique design studio, House of Heras. Fashioned by the revered designer Silvana Azzi Heras, this collection pays homage to the verdant landscapes, ebullient culture and history of southern Spain.
Silvana Azzi Heras – a celebrated figure in modern Australian design – has been a trailblazer in the industry for decades. Her extensive collaboration with award-winning designer Catherine Martin and lauded director Baz Luhrmann spanned 17 years before she founded House of Heras in 2018. Known for its approach and distinctive creations, House of Heras has attracted a global following.

“This collection is definitely inspired by our travels throughout southern Spain. The colours, the trees, the wildflowers, the birds and the beaches all played a role. Travelling gives me a moment to pause, reflect and appreciate the beauty that surrounds me. Of course, it helps when the sun is out and I’m at my happiest,” says Silvana Azzi Heras.
Available exclusively through Designer Rugs, each piece in the ‘Gardens of Andalucia’ collection mirrors the talent and the timeless splendour of southern Spain. This collection marks House of Heras’ third collaboration with Designer Rugs, weaving the convivial spirit of Andalucia with intricate design details, vibrant wildflowers and diverse birdlife. Each rug tells a story through colour, pattern and texture, traversing buyers to the land of flamenco, ancient architecture and natural beauty.

Fittingly, Designer Rugs hosted a Spanish-themed soirée complete with vibrant music, refreshing sangria and a delectable array of Spanish tapas. The surroundings, coupled with the designs on display, set the scene for the launch party last Thursday, positioned against the backdrop of Garden Life Garden Centre. In collaboration with Milton & King, who showcased their matching wallpapers, the evening celebrated design and creativity in harmony.
