The 2015 Premier’s Design Awards are open for entry, spanning categories including architectural design, service design, product design, communication design, digital design and design strategy.

Launched in 2012, the Premier’s Design Awards celebrate both designers and clients for excellence in the development and use of design and design-led innovation. Managed by Good Design Australia on behalf of the Victorian government, the awards recognise and rewards Victorian designers and business using exemplar design effectively and sustainably.

The awards provide an opportunity for businesses and the community to better understand the role of design in making products and services more functional, and also brings to light the significant contribution to the Victorian economy. More than 195,000 people are employed in design related roles, with the sector generating revenue of $7.3 billion annually for the state’s economy, including an estimated $204 million in design-related exports.

“Design is one of Victoria’s great creative strengths and it has the power to transform both businesses and the community. Good design can reduce environmental impact, increase productivity and profitability and improve quality of life,” says the Hon. Daniel Andrews, Premier of Victoria.
