Linear were engaged by L.E.K. Consulting to help transition their Melbourne office towards a higher performance workplace developed around the principles of flexible working and wellbeing.

The new workplace encompasses key principles of activity-based working. The design solution creates an increased sense of team and connectedness by encouraging staff – 45 Melbourne-based staff, including partners, consulting teams and non-consulting staff – to move around and work in a variety of different spaces; quiet, collaborative and team.

L.E.K. wanted to reinforce creative thinking. A variety of spaces feature writable walls and flexible furniture layouts, designed to fosters creative thinking. These were strategically located at arrival points and between formal client spaces, allowing visitors glimpses into these creative project spaces. Slatted timber sliding screens provide a level of transparency and also the ability to create a private space when required. Patterned floor elements were also used to reinforce a creative energy in areas where staff came to socialise and recharge.

High end audio visual and meeting facilities provide L.E.K. the tools to connect with the business nationally and globally in a variety of different settings including one on one, formal group settings and a more informal lounge space.

Neutral and tonal greys are balanced with warm timber elements, as is the balance between texture and pattern, and matt and polished finishes. Strong furniture elements provide spaces in themselves and places to meet or focus in the open environment.
