Form follows LED - thanks to its flat, low-profile design, the DISCUS spotlight, which was especially designed for LED technology, blends perfectly into all kinds of architecture.

The innovative design concept by EOOS ensures purely passive cooling of the LED module, in combination with very compact dimensions.

The track-mounted and ceiling-recessed versions of DISCUS allow integral lighting solutions and efficient lighting for retail spaces using state-of-the-art light sources.

The newly developed track-box adapter platform features a compact, unobtrusive design, emphasising the minimalist spotlight concept.

With DISCUS, thermal management is an integral part of the design concept. Cooling is passive, functioning with high efficiency according to a chimney effect, cool air is thermally attracted and guided from below through the blades.

In the process, the inflowing air conducts excess heat upwards and away from the lighting module. In combination with the perfectly connected spotlight housing made of die-cast aluminium, efficient heat dissipation is achieved with simultaneously compact dimensions

The LED version of DISCUS is a real power pack. The quantity of light emitted achieves a luminous flux equal to a 20 W HIT or a 90 W halogen system, but is significantly more efficient, long-lasting and compact.

The service life of the LED module is around 50,000 hours, meaning that maintenance effort can be more or less disregarded. Other spotlight versions for miniaturised HIT lamps, combined with Zumtobel’s tried-and-tested reflector technology, were added to complement the range.
